The hardcore out there know that the 43 Defense is a classic setup of 4 defensive linemen and 3
Spanish "Licor 43" (sometimes called "Cuarenta y Tres" - teamed up for a cool cocktail to kick off the
Super festivities. Blueberry, vanilla and lime liven up the pre-game action. Save the beer for half-time!
Lineup:
¼ piece of fresh lime
1 tablespoon simple syrup *
1 ounce Licor 43
1 ½ ounces blueberry vodka
Ice
Chilled club soda
Fresh lime and blueberries (for garnish)
Playbook:
Muddle the lime in a cocktail shaker. Add simple syrup, Licor 43, blueberry vodka and ice. Shake well
and pour into a rock glass. Top with club soda and garnish with lime and blueberries.
* Simple syrup - Combine ½ cup sugar and ½ water in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat until sugar
is dissolved. Cool.
